How much does it cost?
The casual rates (listed above) cover a three hour session. Alternatively, you can purchase a membership (prices here). There is a once off $2 registration fee. It’s free to enter if you are holding the ropes (belaying). Do you have memberships? Yes, we do have memberships as well as prepaid visit passes. Click here to see our membership page. Do you offer climbing lessons? Yes we do. Check out our options here. What other facilities do you have? Autobelays, caving, high ropes, abseiling, showers/changing rooms (currently closed), café, gear shop and free parking. Can I bring my own food? Unfortunately we aren't able to allow outside food into the centre to eat in the cafe area as it may affect other climbers. It is also a public space that we do not reserve nor allow groups to congregate in. What do I need to wear? Our only requirement is closed-toe shoes. We recommend long, stretchy pants for comfort and ease of movement. |
Do I need to book?
We currently do not require bookings, walk-ins open all day for casual climbing. Group bookings need to be made at a minimum of 2 weeks in advanced. How long can I stay for? You session ends when you leave - so you can stay as long as you'd like! When are your busiest times? Monday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon/night and Thursday afternoon. Some weekends may by busy with parties so feel free to call and ask. How many routes do you have? 102 top rope routes and 46 boulder routes. 12 of the top rope routes are on auto belays which you can do by yourself. How high are your walls? We have four different heights. 3.5 meters (bouldering), 8 meters, 12 meters and 18.5 meters. Do you have age restrictions? We recommend no younger than 5 years old, but this is not a strict rule. There is no age cap – the oldest climber The Edge has ever had was 88. |
When are you open?
Click here to see our opening hours. How do I get to the center? Click here to see the map. I’ve never climbed before. Will I be okay? Yes, you will be fine. Our staff with explain how to hold the ropes safely, give you a brief tour of the center and will be available for you to ask any further questions you may have. Is it safe? No, it is not safe. There are inherent risks involved with indoor adventure; hence our qualified instructors, extensive safety instruction, and quality inspected safety equipment. Remember this is serious fun… Do I need to supervise my children? All children under the age of 16 need to be supervised. Do I need a partner? We have four autobelays and a boulder wall that can all be used without a partner. To utilise the other walls, you will need someone to hold the ropes. |
